Reiki Energy Healing
Here’s why I absolutely love Reiki:
It’s like plugging into a direct power current to the divine.
It can be incredibly gentle, deeply nourishing, restorative, and illuminating.
It can move you through blockages/issues/traumas far faster and more deeply than in regular “talk therapy.”
It brings in a deep physical integration. It opens us more fully to love.
It works on every level -- physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
It’s simple. And it simply works.
Reiki has been positively instrumental in my own journey of healing and awakening. And I’ve seen it move small mountains with my clients.
So … what is Reiki?
Reiki is a type of “laying on of the hands” energy healing that originated in Japan. It uses gentle touch and specific hand placements to rebalance and restore the energy, (or “Ki”) within and surrounding the human body. “Ki” is the “life force energy” contained within every living being, and it’s known by many names: prana in Sanskrit, Qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and mana in Hawaiian.
This energy may become diminished or unbalanced because of stress, trauma, and disease. Reiki cleanses the meridians and energy lines of the body -- and clears, balances, and restructures the chakras.
What benefits can you expect?
Most people report feelings of deep relaxation and peace as Reiki activates and supports the parasympathetic nervous system. Some people experience the relief of physical pain, increased clarity and insight, emotional catharsis, unwinding of the musculoskeletal system, and enhanced sense of spiritual connection.
Reiki is a wonderful complement to traditional counseling therapies. It helps integrate any other personal growth or development you’re pursuing. It promotes deep somatic release in very gentle ways. It unwinds deeply-held patterns (particularly of anxiety or self-hatred). And many people enjoy it as a regular part of their self-care routine -- so they can feel better, feel connected, and maintain their work in the world.
Reiki reconnects us to the bigger picture of healing. It goes beyond symptom alleviation into deep acceptance, compassion, and the recognition that everything is workable … and anything is possible.
My Reiki practice is just a little different.
1. My practice integrates Usui and Karuna Reiki forms.
Most Reiki practitioners have received attunements in the Usui lineage. After I became an Usui Reiki Master Teacher, I also became a Karuna Master Teacher, and now integrate both of these forms in my practice.
Karuna (which means, “compassion in action”) is a Reiki system that includes and transcends Usui. It is often described as deeper, gentler, and more powerful. In my experience, it expands the range of energetic frequencies we can access -- and feels decidedly more heart-centered.
2. My Reiki is informed by other energetic healing modalities.
Thanks to my extensive training with Anodea Judith (author of Eastern Body, Western Mind; Wheels of LIfe; sacredcenters.com) and apprenticeship with Sarabelle Gruber (a student of Barbara Brennan), my energetic expertise is rich and deep. While most traditional Reiki treatments involve a passive relationship with energy (a “flow where you will” approach), my education allows me to consciously and intentionally recognize different levels of the energy field and to recognize and repair breaks in them.
My approach may feel a little different, go a little deeper, or involve more detail than others. But ultimately, my practice is still and truly Reiki: it is spiritually guided life energy.
What’s included in a session:
Each session lasts around 90 minutes and takes place in my Boulder office.
Clients remain fully clothed (typically in loose, comfortable clothing).
We will start by discussing your overall health and goals -- on every level of your field (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual).
Then, you will receive an hour (or a little more) of full hand contact bodywork on the table.
So … what brings you here?
Stress? Deep spiritual longing? Internal guidance or curiosity?
